Called to talk to the Pastor about a family issue. Said she'd been a visitor here and was moving to Effingham. Pastor helped her son (Shane) with "emergency cash." She has been calling to talk to Pastor again and gets irate when he is not available. We will not help again. (would offer our Food Pantry.)

This woman called our church as well last week with the same story. Our pastor was unavailable when she called, & I offered to have him return the call. She said she was at a pay phone with a calling card & didn't know the phone number. She said she would call back at 11:45 & asked for me to keep him here until she called in case he decided to leave for lunch early. I waited until 12:30 myself, but she never called back. ~Paula, Christ's Church of Effingham
